The Aerothrow™ is,
quite simply, a revolutionary pitching training device. It
stands alone as the only pitching training aid on the market
that simultaneously builds the strength, develops the coordination
and teaches the technique needed to become a winning pitcher.
Instead of using weights or rubber bands, the Aerothrow’s
innovative design (patent pending) harnesses the benefits of
aerodynamic drag to provide a resistive force that truly works
to improve your pitching performance.
It begins with using an advanced material of lightweight but structurally
firm, polyethylene foam. We designed the structure to be comprised
of an array of four fins joined at the bottom to a circular plate.
An understanding of aerodynamic physics led us to this simple and
elegant design that produces a maximum amount of resistance from
a minimum device size.
In short, the Aerothrow™ provides
the most dynamic pitching workout available. |

• Fins and bottom plate made from
closed-cell, polyethylene foam
• Foam material is inert and lightweight
• Foam structure is tough, flexible
and resilient
• Foam weight is between 2-3 ounces,
depending on model

• Allows wrist freedom of movement
• Permits strengthening and coordinating
wrist snapping motion for added velocity
• Ball can be gripped loosely to allow
a more natural feel
• 2” nylon rope attaches baseball
to foam structure
• Not a weighted ball device, the
foam structure is pulled by the ball

• Baseball is regulation size and weight: 9” and
5oz
• Made from semi-rigid polyurethane
foam
• Dimpled for easy gripping
• Nylon rope is attached to the center
of the ball via a conical hole for stability

The Aerothrow’s™ unique design works
to impede air flow coming at it from any angle. This allows the Aerothrow™ to produce a smoothly varying resistive force throughout the entire
training motion. Since the device is lightweight and relatively small
in size, pitchers have the freedom to employ their natural throwing
motion from start to finish. No more cables or rubber bands to constrict
your movement. Pitchers can throw the Aerothrow exactly the way they
would normally throw a baseball.
The most significant advantages of the Aerothrow™ relate
to the way it utilizes air resistance. By its nature, aerodynamic
resistance is velocity-dependent, which means that the faster the
device moves, the greater the amount of resistance produced. For the
pitchers that use the Aerothrow™, some of the benefits of
this are:
1. The resistance created by the Aerothrow™ is low-impact,
meaning it is relatively less stressful on joints, muscles and
tendons than throwing a baseball. The Aerothrow™ minimizes
wear-and-tear because it provides a smooth and evenly distributed
resistive force that will vary depending upon how fast the pitcher
wishes to throw the device. This makes the Aerothrow™ ideal for rehabilitation
or for preseason conditioning.
2. Aerodynamic resistance produced by the Aerothrow™ will
increase or decrease depending upon the speed of the device. Based
on the amount of resistance felt, a pitcher knows immediately if
he is throwing faster or slower from one repetition to the next
and consequently if his technique improved. No other pitching training aid
on the market can provide a real-time indication of pitching mechanics.
3. Aerodynamic resistance is a force that acts directly against
the motion of an object. A strength building resistance can be
produced throughout the entire pitching motion of the Aerothrow™. The
Aerothrow™ builds up the muscles that matter to pitchers.
When training with the Aerothrow™, it feels as realistic
as actually throwing a baseball. This is partially due
to the fact that the device is not tethered to any wall or fence,
allowing the pitcher the utmost freedom to achieve a natural
pitching motion. An additional reason is the polyurethane ball
attached to the foam structure is equal in weight and size to
a regulation baseball.
This ball is connected to the foam structure via a flexible two
inch nylon rope. The rope is thin enough to fit comfortably between
the index and middle fingers and will not hinder the pitcher in any way. The rope
allows the foam structure autonomy of motion, keeping it from interfering
with the throwing hand, while positioning the foam fins so they
fully engage the airflow and provide the most air resistance possible.
When the pitcher throws the Aerothrow™ using his natural
throwing motion, he will feel a perfectly smooth resistance force
that will rise and fall as he begins and ends his delivery. A few
repetitions later, he will begin to feel the astonishing effects
this resistance has on working out the muscles specific to throwing. Over
time, the Aerothrow™ will help you to increase velocity and
improve stamina so that you will be able to throw more innings with better results and spend less time on the bench watching others pitch.
